2015-02-03. Isabekov Askar:I have asked help on BirdForum.net 2015-02-03. Sanzhar Abdikhalyk: I believe this is a grey-breasted prinia, owing to the dark markings at the underside of the tail feathers. No other prinia in that area has those to my knowledge. It should be noted that this is winter non-breeding plumage. In breeding plumage the breast is, in fact, very grey - which helps ID and explains the name of the species 2015-02-04. Isabekov Askar: answer form Jalid: These are Grey-breasted Prinias: smaller, with smaller bill, dark loral stripe, narrow supercilium almost like in Phylloscopus warbler (in winter), brownish wings almost like in Whitethroat and more distinct black bands on the underside of rectrices. Also calls and often behaviour are different.
